SCHMIER On New HEADHUNTER CD: 'This Record Really Made My Day In Difficult Times'

February 10, 2008

HEADHUNTER, the reunited German band featuring DESTRUCTION frontman Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer, STRATOVARIUS drummer Jörg Michael, and guitarist Schmuddel (ex-TALON),will release its comeback album, "Parasite of Society", on May 23 via AFM Records in Europe. The CD was mixed by Achim Köhler in Stuttgart, Germany.

Two songs from the album — "Doomsday For The Prayer" and "Silverskull" — are available for streaming at the band's MySpace page.

Commented Schmier: "I hope you have enjoyed the two new songs 'Doomsday...' and 'Silverskull'. We will post some more REAL METAL within the next weeks.

"The album has a big range/variety, so it's difficult to have an impression on the whole masterpiece if you have only heard two tracks, I do fuckin' know that!

"This record really made my day in difficult times and goes back to the roots of metal. My roots of music.

"I'm fuckin' honored that I had the chance again to play with my mates, Schmuddel and Jörg, after all those years.

"Thanks a lot to YOU out there, YOU made this album possible! This is NO ass-lickin'…

"It's payback time, that's why I'm posting stuff here many weeks/month in advance of the release.

"My label will KILL me! Hargh, hargh!"
